Support the YouthBuild IDEJEN Rebuilding Academy in Haiti

The YouthBuild IDEJEN Rebuilding Academy will unfold over the next five years and will engage 9,000 out of school, unemployed Haitian youth in rebuilding the earthquake devastated country. As young people work on construction sites to rebuild houses, community centers, schools and other critical community infrastructure they will be learning essential technical and soft skills and spending half of their time in a classroom advancing their basic education skills.

YouthBuild International and its local Haitian partner IDEJEN have been successful in raising the necessary capital to support the launch and implementation of the core Academy program elements from generous institutional donors, including the MasterCard Foundation, Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Inter-American Development Bank and USAID . But there are many current and anticipated costs related to the Academy training infrastructure in Haiti and to supporting the long term success of students and graduates which require additional funding.

We welcome all tax deductible donations to the YouthBuild IDEJEN Rebuilding Academy. Below is an illustrative list of items which donations will support:

• Personal Safety Gear for One Student (Hard Hat, Gloves, Safety Glasses): $25
• Work Boots for One Student: $40
• Hand Tools for Two Students: $80
• Daily Hot Lunch for 100 Students for One Day: $100
• Daily Hot Lunch for 100 Students for One Week: $500
• Team Tools for One Work Crew (Shovels, Pick Ax, Wheel Barrows, Trowels): $200
• Taa Bora Solar Lamps Kits for Nighttime Study for 10 Students: $300

• Hurricane Resistant Metal Roof for One Training Center: $30,000
